Enjoy a beautiful afternoon or evening of live music with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra (MCO), featuring the world premiere of a new cello concerto written especially for one of its own celebrated musicians.
In Drifting Currents, cellist Blair Harris brings composer Alice Humphries’ deeply moving new work to life, drawing on their long-standing creative collaboration.
The programme also features Respighi’s graceful Ancient Airs and Dances, the meditative music of Pēteris Vasks, and Josef Suk’s radiant Serenade for Strings. Together, these works celebrate the connections between composers, musicians and audiences, offering a lyrical and uplifting end to the season.
