Paul Keating is back — and he has plenty to say!
The smash-hit comedy The Gospel According to Paul returns to Arts Centre Melbourne, with Jonathan Biggins once again transforming into the former Prime Minister for a sharp, hilarious and very Australian take on politics.
Written and performed by Biggins and directed by Aarne Neeme, the show explores Keating’s landmark political achievements, personal obsessions and legendary Question Time wit, while bringing plenty of fresh material to reflect on today’s political landscape.
From AUKUS and negative gearing to the rise of Pauline and the demise of the Liberal Party, this updated version promises plenty of laughs, opinions and perhaps a little nostalgia for the days of the man in the Zegna suit.
Jonathan Biggins is one of Australia’s favourite comic actors and the co-creator and star of the long-running Wharf Revue. His acclaimed performance as Keating has made this a much-loved piece of Australian political satire.
