Why We're Doing This

With increasing restrictions and lockdown measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, fewer and fewer of us are leaving the house to visit our favorite restaurants. While businesses and workers of all kinds are being impacted, the foodservice industry will be hit especially hard.

After asking how we could best help, we bought 10 gift cards to some of our favorite Atlanta restaurants who have supported our farm over the years. And since it's a bit of a trek for us, we decided to give away all 10 gift cards, worth a combined $1,000. We're calling these #RestaurantRainchecks

(Please practice safe social distancing measures: if you win a gift card, please wait to use them until after the pandemic has been contained.)

We hope this small effort will help these restaurants and their employees with some much needed cash flow and inspire others to support in similar ways.

How Else You Can Help

No matter where you are in the world, there's plenty you can do to help.

To support your local restaurants, order takeout if you feel safe doing so. If you're able to, please also consider buying a gift card directly from your favorite restaurant. They can certainly use the cash flow at this time. Give Local is a good resource to find restaurants to support, or you can add ones you don't see.

To support restaurant workers in need, consider a donation to an organization like Giving Kitchen.
